Our stories
Rachid Mashreq Group re- established itself in Egypt in 1977 after a period of interruption due to the nationalization during President Nasser time in Egypt.
Since 1977 RMG focused totally in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods starting with Foods and Beverages. Two joint ventures were established, one with Coca Cola Co. to cover soft drinks; and the second with Dr. Oetker (Germany) to cover desserts powder products.
The portfolio of Rachid Mashreq Group is including the following joint ventures:
Unilever Mashreq Group

The RMG in 1991 established a joint venture with Unilever to develop jointly food business in Egypt through manufacturing, marketing, and distribution under Unilever brands a wide variety of Culinary and Home and Personal Care products in Egypt and the Middle East. Products: Soups, Stock Cubes, Tomato Paste, Tomato Sauces under “ Fine Foods” brand name, Lipton Tea, Lux, Dove, Axe, Omo, Sunsilk and Signal 2.

The Unilever joint venture is managed by the Rachid Mashreq Group through a professional management team of locals plus a number of expatriates covering areas of expertise not yet available, but planned to be covered in the next few years by local management.

In addition to the Unilever joint ventures the Rachid Mashreq Group owns the DREEM Company. Dreem is manufacturing, marketing and selling packaged dry food products and bakery ingredients.

The Rachid Mashreq Group has also a joint venture with Bongrain covering the manufacture and marketing of Cheese in the Middle East Markets.

On December 2001, the Rachid Mashreq Group signed a Shareholders Agreement with Danone Group to establish joint ventures covering the production of the three main categories of Danone (Biscuit, Dairy and Water) for the Egyptian Market as well as to a large territory in the Middle East.

In addition to the above The Rachid Mashreq Group is a major investor in a number of other companies in Egypt but not in an active management role :
